What a difference a year makes!  Last year we were struggling to finish planting corn and this year it's knee high and closing the rows in some cases.  Crop prospects look great right now and it also appears we are heading towards a more "normal" harvest.  Construction is moving along nicely at the Mendota north facility as well as Van Orin facility as we make upgrades to those elevators prior to harvest.

A few weeks ago we sent you a letter stating your Board of Directors had moved to pay dividends on your NPC stock as well as approved a patronage plan for the business you conducted with us last year.  They also approved retiring two years of deferred equity from the Van Orin distribution.  Hopefully if you had any questions on any of that information you were able to visit with your local NPC contacts for clarification.  Thank you for your patronage and your continued confidence in Northern Partners as a business partner in your farming operation.

Along with that letter was your proxy for our annual meeting.  If you have not done so already, please sign and return your proxy to any location or drop it in the mail.  R.E. Larkin and Dave Wilson are running for 3 year terms on your board.  Ron Full and Howard Zimmerlein are stepping down after serving on the initial transition board.  We thank them for their leadership and service.

We are planning a series of Customer Appreciation Cookouts for later this summer.  We plan to cook out at 4 different NPC locations July 12 & 13 as well as August 3 & 5.  We are tentatively planning on the Ottawa facility, Tonica facility, Van Orin elevator location and the Mendota North elevator location.  We will share more information as we approach those dates.

Hopefully you all get an opportunity for some R & R and family time this summer.  We hope to see you at one of our summer cookouts.

Eric
